Title 2014 Korea-Indonesia Seminar on Copyright Cooperation Held in Indonesia

"2014 Korea-Indonesia Seminar on Copyright Cooperation", co-hosted by the Korea Copyright Commission (KCC) and the Directorate General of Intellectual Property Right (DGIPR) was held at the Ritz Carlton Jakarta, Indonesia, on June the 12th.

The seminar dealt with the protection measures regarding performers neighbouring rights of copyright, which have been actively discussed worldwide, with a view to share each country's experience and seek effective measures for protection and cooperation.

At the seminar, professor Hae-wan Lee from Sungkyunkwan University law school explained about the protection of Korean performers rights, and the Federation of Korean Music Performers' Eun-ho Hwang and ITBOB's Jeong-hwan Lee shared their hands-on experience with collective management's and music producers' points of view.

Approximately 100 interested people, including Indonesia's government officials and other workers involved in the two countries' copyright industries, participated in the seminar and made enthusiastic enquiries and discussions.

KCC representative stated that this seminar would be an opportunity to strengthen Korea and Indonesia's mutual understanding and cooperation through sharing each other's experience regarding performers rights, which have been spotlighted internationally in the field of copyright.
